About Boonies

Hi, I’m Glen Sheaff, and I’m the founder of Boonies. I started Boonies in 2010 with my wife Julia because we were tired of seeing people wearing uncomfortable, poorly made gum boots that didn’t last. We wanted to create a gum boot that was both comfortable and durable. 

We based or self’s here in Mount Maunganui for the location and access to the Tauranga Port.

Both growing up in New Zealand outdoors has given us a great perspective on what people need out of there outdoor footwear and gumboots.

After a few years of research and development, we finally created the first range of Boonies Gumboots and we have not stopped working on improving them. . Our gum boots are made from high-quality materials and they are built to last. They are also incredibly comfortable, thanks to our unique design and our use of soft natural rubber and handmade construction.
