On a farm, your boots do more hours than almost anything else you own. Wet mornings, mud, concrete, hills, shed floors. The wrong pair wears you out. The right pair you stop thinking about. Here's what to look for.
Comfort comes first
If you're on your feet from milking to dark, comfort isn't a luxury. Look for a boot with a lining that feels good against the foot and room for a decent insole. It's the all-day comfort that makes people stick with a brand. At Boonies it's what we build around.
Get the fit right
A boot that's too loose rubs. One that's too tight cuts off circulation and goes cold. Use the insole length in millimetres on each product page, and have a look at our sizing guide if you're between sizes.
Grip and stability
Slippery shed floors and wet grass are where good tread earns its keep. Check the sole pattern and make sure it suits where you'll spend most of your day.
Toe protection
For stock work, machinery or anywhere things can drop, think about steel toe. Our steel toe vs soft toe guide explains the difference. Browse the Rover range for waterproof work boots.
Keep stones and muck out
If you work on gravel races and tracks, add gravel guards. They stop stones and water getting in over the top.
Look after them
Rinse off the effluent, dry them away from direct heat, and they'll last a lot longer. Our care guide covers the basics.
